Children today face growing mental and emotional challenges, and the adults who care for them—whether at home, in schools, or in the community—need support and clear strategies to respond.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Theta Tau Omega Chapter are hosting an event to bring together parents, caregivers, educators, mental health professionals, and community members for a focused afternoon of learning and collaboration around children's mental health.
We are pleased to welcome Shalice Foster, MSW, LCSW, LCADC, CCS, as our keynote speaker, who will open the event with a powerful address that highlights real-world insights and practical approaches to supporting young people’s mental health.
Following the keynote, attendees will take part in a breakout session led by Dr. Colette Poole, whose deep experience in mental health and child development offers a grounded, informed perspective. This session will offer practical strategies and space for open conversation among those on the front lines of caring for children.
Whether you work in a classroom, around a kitchen table, or within the healthcare system, this event is an opportunity to connect, learn, and take away tools that make a difference.
