2025 Bacteria Monitoring Sampling Training

Save the Sound is gearing up for another season of water quality monitoring! Save the Sound staff and community volunteers visit each monitoring site once a week from mid-June through the end of August.

This in-person event will provide background information into our Bacteria Monitoring Program as well as offer training in the proper procedures of collecting water quality samples. Most samples are collected from the shoreline or by wading into a waterway.

Training is mandatory to participate as a volunteer. Attendance will be documented for those interested in participating in the collection of samples.
