In this week-long camp, students discover and develop science, math, engineering and programming skills through designing, building, and programming a VEX robot. This camp takes students through a project-based challenge, culminating in a fun and interactive competition with peers where students get to put their creations to the test.

Week 5’s Intermediate/Advanced camp is geared towards those who already have experience working with VEX IQ (i.e. has been part of a Davis Youth Robotics team, attended the summer camp last year, etc.), providing students with less strict structure and instruction. This grants students more freedom with their designing, building, and programming of their robot.

This camp is led by Alex Bugni, a middle school science teacher, and is assisted by camp counselors from the World Champion Citrus Circuits Robotics Team. These counselors are experienced in VEX and will work one-on-one with students to help their designing and programming process.

Due to the limited camp availability, only children entering grades 4th through 8th are eligible. Registration is restricted to one camp per student. Students above 8th grade are encouraged to apply for the high school robotics team, Citrus Circuits.

Half and full scholarships are available, although there are a limited amount that must be applied for and approved. See below for scholarship instructions.
