A career is a life-long journey during which we pick up a variety of skills, knowledge and experience. This symposium will focus on harnessing those skills during career transitions full of both challenges and successes. Jos Akkermans, Associate Professor of Sustainable Careers and Organizational Behavior at VU Amsterdam will deliver the keynote address. In addition, the afternoon will feature interviews, interactive conversations, and surprising dance performances with Tamara Markus as moderator.
The 'Empowering Sustainable Careers' symposium marks the farewell of Paul Bronkhorst as the director of Omscholing Dansers Nederland. Paul has been involved with the retraining program for dancers since its inception in 1986 and has continued to develop the fund into its current form. This will be a day to reflect on this valuable contribution to the field of dance and also a moment to look ahead as Omscholing Dansers Nederland and Sociaal Fonds Podiumkunsten join forces to support retraining and life-long career development in the performing arts.
