About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Threads of Connection (to Self) is an immersive fibre art exhibition that extends beyond aesthetics—it is a deeply personal exploration of growth, self-discovery, and resilience. Rooted in my own artistic journey, this exhibition invites visitors to experience fibre art not just as a visual or tactile medium, but as a form of therapy, reflection, and transformation. Through intricate, hand-crafted installations, this program shares the quiet power of making—how fibre can hold stories, emotions, and the passage of time within its threads.

At its core, this exhibition is a conversation about connection—to self, to others, and to the spaces we inhabit. Each fibre installation represents a stage of personal evolution, weaving together the themes of uncertainty, healing, and newfound clarity. Textured landscapes of knotted and woven fibres create a sense of movement—symbolising how we navigate change and embrace the imperfect beauty of becoming.

Alongside the exhibition, a Watch Me Work live demonstration will offer visitors an intimate look into my process—how I manipulate fibre into large-scale sculptural forms, the role of repetition in my practice, and the meditative nature of working with my hands. This session is not just about technique; it’s about inviting people into the quiet, reflective space that making creates.

The experience is further deepened with an interactive co-creation project, where visitors are invited to contribute to a large-scale fibre installation. Open to all, this ongoing piece serves as a symbol of shared experience—a collective act of making that reinforces the idea that creativity is not only personal but also communal. This installation will evolve throughout the exhibition, eventually becoming a lasting artistic legacy, either displayed or gifted to a public space.

Threads of Connection (to Self) is for designers, artists, and anyone seeking to engage with art in a way that feels meaningful and personal. It is an invitation to slow down, to feel, and to witness how fibre—soft yet strong, delicate yet resilient—mirrors our own experiences of transformation.
