WORKSHOPS

ROB|ARCH 2024 will kick off with three-day intensive workshops led by eleven teams from a wide range of institutions. Workshops are available for all skill levels/previous experiences, and will engage various robotic tools. Full details of each workshop are available here.

NOTE: please read the registration notes below before completing your registration.

CONFERENCE THEME

The growing presence of robotics in art, research, design, and construction has changed the way we practice and think through our tools. Since 2012, when the first ROB|ARCH conference was held, the role of robotics in creative practices and manufacturing industries has grown, shifted, and evolved. Robots are no longer a shiny novelty restricted to niche research proposals but are now a fundamental technical tool for interfacing between digital and physical worlds.

The two-day conference will include presentations from our paper authors, keynotes from internationally recognized figures, good food and networking opportunities.

REGISTRATION NOTES

  • Rates: Three registration rates are offered for the conference: Regular Attendance + Presenting Authors; RiA Members; and Students.
  • Workshops: Registration for workshops is only available to those registering for the conference. Those registering for workshops are asked to ensure they select the same category for both conference and workshop tickets (eg. student + student).
  • Student Registration: If you are purchasing a Student Registration, please be aware that proof of enrollment is required. Once you complete the registration process via eventbrite make sure to fill out the proof of enrolment form (a link will be provided once you complete registration). The organizers will have to cancel registrations for those who do not submit their proof of enrollment. Please note that student registration is not available for presenting authors.
  • Student Housing: The organizers have arranged for a discounted housing option for students (verification required for all current undergrad, grad + PhD students) at HOEM on Jarvis. This can be selected as an Add-On during the registration process. Please email j.anderson@torontomu.ca after you purchase this option to select your roommates and answer any questions.
  • Workshops: In case a workshop is unable to run for any reason, the workshop organizers will reach out to all registrants affected to arrange for a position in another workshop.
