About this event

A two day holiday group (3 hours per day) in the April school holidays, 2024 at Norparrin, Mill Park. Sessions are staffed by our highly skilled Keyworkers and Allied Health Assistants utilising your NDIS funding. By registering for this event, you are registering for both group sessions (dates outlined below).


Overview of this group:

Are you interested in science and the living world? Then this is the group for you!

In Mad Science we will be expanding our minds and investigating the natural world all around us. Activities will include investigating colours, learning about how things move, and other fun science experiments! Participants will develop their executive function skills through learning to follow instructions and work cooperatively in a group environment.

Mad Science participants will receive an activity booklet and certificate so you can continue your science journey at home.


Group dates for April school holidays 2024

  • Thursday 4th April, 10.00am - 1.00pm
  • Friday 5th April, 10.00am - 1.00pm


Goals for this group:

  • Practice cooperation with peers.
  • Develop positive connections with others in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Develop executive function skills such as attention, concentration, ability to follow
    instructions, memory, planning and organisation.
  • Develop flexible thinking skills.

Suitable for:

  • Children currently at school (6-7 years)
  • Interested in science and the living world.
  • Basic fine motor skills will be required to ensure participation in the activities.
  • Able to follow 1-2 step instructions.


A parent/carer is not required to stay for the group.


Please bring:

EpiPen/medication as outlined in medical action plan
Water bottle
sun hat
lunch (Nut free please)
sunscreen (already applied)
spare clothing (as needed

Please ensure your child wears clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, as we will be doing messy activities. Art smocks will be supplied (or please feel free to bring your own).

Group Cost: $492.72 - $851.99

*Group costings vary dependent on group numbers. Final costing will be advised prior to the group starting.

After each group session, staff will document how your child participated and worked towards their set goals. Summary reports will be provided for Term groups. Reports for holiday groups can be provided on request (at additional cost). 

Please note:

*All MCM groups are billed as a Program of Support. As stated in the NDIS Program of Supports , when you enrol in a group program, you will be charged for all scheduled sessions (listed above), regardless of how many sessions your child attends.

*Group program charges will apply 14 days before the program is due to commence. If you cancel with more than 14 days’ notice, you will not be charged.

Please ensure you have an active service agreement with MCM, with sufficient available funding to cover the cost of the group. Call our Customer Support Team on 1800 343 287 to check or add additional funds to cover the cost of this group.

It is important to ensure your child is enrolled in the appropriate group to meet their goals. If this is the first group you have attended at MCM, an individual pre-group assessment session is required to ensure suitability and fit to the group.

*MCM may cancel this group if we are unable to reach minimum numbers.
