Let's Communicate Mill Park

This two hour group runs weekly for 8 weeks during Term 2, 2024 at Norparrin, Mill Park. Sessions are staffed by our highly skilled Key workers and allied health assistants utilising your NDIS funding. By registering for this event, you are registering for the full 6 weeks of group (dates outlined below).

Overview of this group:

Communication:

- Can be verbal or non-verbal.

- Different ways of communication.

- Conversation skills: taking conversational turns and responding to others.

- Language for social skills and interactions such as negotiating and communicating Information, including expressing feelings and emotions.

- Children develop language that will support them in play.

Goals for this group:-

• Opportunities for group/individual discussions to address questions and/or concern on language development and communication.
• Early language development skills: expressing needs, asking for help, negotiating, turn -taking and having conversations.
• Develop an understanding of how play aids language development and play skills.

Suitable for:

• 2-4 years.
• Children who are at the stage of developing early communication and play skills.

Parent/carer stays for the group sessions.

Group Dates for Term 2, 2024, are 9:30am - 11:30am

Please bring:

• EpiPen/medication as outlined in medical action plan
• Water bottle
• Warm Jacket
• Sun hat
• Snack/Lunch (Nut free please)
• Sunscreen (already applied)
• Spare clothing (as needed)

Please ensure you and your child wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, as we will have opportunities to engage in messy play. Art smocks will be supplied (or please feel free to bring your own).

Group Cost: $1386.74-$2155.06

*Group costings vary dependent on group numbers. Final costing will be advised prior to the group starting.

After each group session, staff will document how your child participated and worked towards their set goals. A summary report will be provided for Term Groups. Reports for holiday groups can be provided on request (at additional cost).

Please note:

*All MCM groups are billed as a Program of Support. As stated in the NDIS Program of Supports , when you enrol in a group program, you will be charged for all scheduled sessions (listed above), regardless of how many sessions your child attends.

*Group program charges will apply 14 days before the program is due to commence. If you cancel with more than 14 days’ notice, you will not be charged.

Please ensure you have an active service agreement with MCM, with sufficient available funding to cover the cost of the group. Call our Customer Support Team on 1800 343 287 to check or add additional funds to cover the cost of this group.

It is important to ensure your child is enrolled in the appropriate group to meet their goals. If this is the first group you have attended at MCM, an individual pre-group assessment session is required to ensure suitability and fit to the group. If you are an existing MCM client, your screener will be completed with your Key worker.

This screener will be charged at 30mins for new clients and at 10mins for existing MCM clients.

*MCM may cancel this group if we are unable to reach minimum numbers.
