About this event

I AM Research lab invites you to celebrate the study of "Sexual and Mental Health of Black Queer Communities During the COVID-19 Pandemic”

This research project aims to shed light on the unique experiences of African, Caribbean, and Black two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (2SLGBTQ+) individuals in Ontario, especially amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

After an intensive phase of data collection, including focus groups and interviews, we are thrilled to announce that we have successfully completed this stage of our research. Through the engagement of diverse voices within the Black 2SLGBTQ+ community, we were able to gather invaluable insights that offer a comprehensive understanding of the challenges, resilience, and unique narratives of this community.

We are excited to announce our KTE for our community in on Saturday, December 2nd The event will focus on sharing the positive elements that emerged from our data collection and analysis that highlight the importance of relationships and community amidst isolation and adversity. We aim to foster hope, highlight resilience, and celebrate the joy and healing that exists within the Black 2SLGBTQIA community.
