About this event

WHAT IS IT?

Join us for an experience combining health, social justice and community together with the power of yin yoga.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Why are we doing this?

The GenZine community does so much outer work; questioning unjust systems, emotional labour, and community actions.

Studies show that people who work in the social justice and community sector have high rates of burnout.

This experience is all about learning and practising the tools of yoga and mindfulness to restore and sustainably be in community together.

Without rest and reflection, we might be perpetuating the same unjust systems.

Rest is not something that takes us away from doing the work, but necessary to actually do the work.

EXPECT: to feel replenished by deep breaths, space to sink into the body, invitations to soften into shapes, wholesome chats and tea.

This is open to all genders, bodies and abilities. No previous yoga experience is neccesary. This event is about exploring being in the body, conscious movement and collective rest, so wear comfy clothes so we can relax to the max together!

Bring a cosy blanket. All other yoga equipment is provided, but if you have a favourite mat or bolster, bring it along!

Free for all. Booking essential.

This project is supported by a Maribyrnong City Council Grant.
