We are running a two-day online training for First Nations spokespeople who want to engage with the media to further develop their skills and confidence when telling their stories & campaigning on important issues.
This training is an intensive practical and theoretical two days to build on your capacity and confidence, and to assist you in connecting with mainstream media outlets and journalists.

What: Free Media Training Workshop for First Nations advocates and community
When: September 20 and 21, 10am - 2pm AEST

Who should come along? The program is designed for First Nations advocates, activists, leaders and campaigners to use our strength in storytelling to learn more about using the media to campaign for change, in a supportive environment. We recommend that you have at least one of the following criteria:
Participated in a Passing the Message Stick briefing
Participated in a two-hour face to face or online media training with us, or
Have pre-existing skills in media engagement, interviews, journalism etc.
What you’ll learn?
Practical skills on how to engage with media and do successful media interviews - interview practice & role playing to build skills and experience.
Theoretical understanding of the current media landscape in Australia.
Tips and techniques to tell your story on your terms in the media.
Create new relationships with other First Nations spokespeople across regions and issues.
