We are back with another popular First Aid on Farms Course by Practical Training Solutions!
Join us for a hands-on First Aid on Farms Course on 24th June 2024 from 10am to 2pm at Hodderville Farms Events Centre in Waotu.
This in-person event hosted by the Pokaiwhenua Catchment Group is perfect for farmers and anyone working in rural areas to learn essential first aid skills specific to farm-related emergencies.
The course covers:
- Practical first aid skills (stopping severe bleeding, applying a tourniquet, managing burns, managing soft tissue injuries, stabilising limbs and fractures, moving patient, getting help)
- CPR, shock, and bleeding
- First aid equipment needs
- Scenario work (quad bike rollover, crushing by animal)
- Special considerations for dairy farms (working in isolation, difficulties accessing emergency services, remoteness)
Important information:
- The cost of the course is fully funded by the Pokaiwhenua Catchment Group
- Limited spaces available, registration is essential
- Lunch will be provided (please let us know ASAP of any dietary requirements)
- Tea and coffee will be provided
- Participants will recieve a first aid certificate to take home
