About this event

  • 1 hour

Dragon Boat for Beginners is a monthly drop-in session by the Scugog Dragon Boat Club.

Dragon boats can fit 10-20 paddlers, and are directed by a qualified steersperson. Paddling can be leisurely or competitive...for these sessions we'll keep it light and fun, with lots of opportunity to learn new skills.

These sessions are great for anyone who likes the water, and wants to try something new!

No experience is required, and we provide all the equipment (life jackets and paddles).

Our coaches will teach you how to safely get in the boat, the proper dragon boat technique. and boat commands.

We'll spend the first 15 minutes getting equipment and loading the boat, followed by 45 minutes on the water. There will be plenty of time to take breaks for water, to snap pics of our beautiful lake, and to learn new skills and technique.

Here at the Scugog Dragon Boat Club we love all humans, and welcome people of all skills and abilities on our boat. Children are welcome, though anyone under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.

Looking forward to seeing you on the water!

We require a minimum of 10 paddlers to get out on the water. If fewer than 10 people are registered by 24 hours before the session, we will send out a cancellation notice.

In the event of a cancellation, registrations will be refunded.
