About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Welcome to a session on Community Preparedness in Nairne, hosted by the Nairne Disaster Resilience Group.

We look forward to having you join us for afternoon tea, whilst we focus on how we can build a stronger more resilient community, in the aftermath of a town disaster.

Get ready to connect with fellow community members and then tune in to hear our experts in emergency preparedness, Guest Speakers Chris Cotton and Veronica Forsayeth from the Charleston Emergency Response & Recovery Group.

Chris and Veronica will be sharing how Charleston have planned to recover and unite post a disaster, and offer us in Nairne some pointers on how to get disaster ready. After their presentation, some discussion will follow, on a suitable plan for our Nairne community.

The Community led, Disaster Resilience Groups have been initiated by the Red Cross and are supported by local council and the CFS. Its hoped that all Adelaide Hills towns will have a community led, 72 hour disaster resilience action plan in place over the coming years.

Together, we can create a more resilient Nairne.
