About this event

This is a therapeutic and meditative experience of guided breathwork, meditation, and sound immersion. Lou's expert and intentional use of instruments and frequencies, individually and in combination, allows you to attain a state of relaxation, release, and reformation through an integral, remedial approach.

Healing through sound therapy is an ancient technique that uses tonal frequencies to bring the body into a state of vibrational balance and harmony. In our modern world also, this subtle and effective modality is being incorporated into approaches aiming to improve chronic health conditions.

The benefits can include:

* shifting brain wave activity towards the slower alpha/theta states

* releasing stress through initiating the 'relaxation response'

* encouraging balance in the autonomic nervous system

* releasing heavy energy and emotions, and reduce physical tension

* alleviating depression and anxiety

* improving sleep

* lowering blood pressure

This beautiful session can include crystal and tibetan singing bowls, rainstick, ocean drum, zaphir & koshi chimes, swinging chimes, crystal pyramid, tuning forks, tongue drum, medicine drum, gong and vocalisation/chant.

Each immersion is intelligently and intuitively sequenced, through the incorporation of specific frequencies, to a theme, emotion or season.

Lou has qualifications in numerous sound healing instruments and sound therapy, as well as a Bachelor of Music Education (vocal major) and Australian Music Examinations Board certificates in Piano, Flute, and Theory of Music. She is the lead facilitator for Australia Yoga Teacher Training's Trauma Informed Yin Yoga and Sound Advanced Certificate and is an experienced teacher of music and yoga.

*** CONTRAINDICATIONS **

Whilst sound therapy is a very safe experience and no instruments will be placed on or very near the body, please note - if you have a pacemaker or any metal implant, carotid stenosis, heart conditions including serious arrythmias or artificial valves, DVT, sound-induced epilepsy, are being treated for active cancer, are pregnant, or have a serious mental health condition, it is advisable to check with your doctor prior to attending a sound therapy session.

Please also let Lou know of any current or chronic conditions.*

**Refunds will not include Eventbrite's non-refundable ticketing fee unless the event is cancelled by the organiser**

Frequently asked questions

What do I bring?

Bring a water bottle! There will be mats, bolsters, eye pillows and blankets to use, but feel free to bring anything so that you are comfortable! Sometimes the body can become cool, so an extra layer, socks or light wrap might be nice.

Do I need to be able to do yoga?

No. This is a group sound immersion. You can rest and restore while the vibrations wash around and within you :) However, if you want to do some gentle movements at any time, you are also welcome to do that. You can lie down or sit in meditation :)

What do I wear?

Comfy, loose clothing.

Do I need to be a member of Xcell Wellness or Xcell Gym?

No! Everyone is welcome :)
