About this event

  • 2 hours

Welcome to the Caswell Community Bike Club. We’ll meet by the Community Garden in Ashworth Holmes at 9:30 a.m. After making our way carefully down Avenue C to the river valley, we’ll enjoy a very leisurely ride along the river valley, covering approximately 15 km each ride. The bike ride will finish at Night Oven Bakery, where the group can enjoy a beverage and social time.

This event will run every Sunday in June. The cost is $30 for all 5 rides, or $10 drop-in per ride if there is space available. Fees include the guided bike ride, as well as your coffee and pastry at the Night Oven!

Participants will be required to wear a helmet at all times while on their bike, and the City requires that cyclists have a bell on their bike while riding on paths. All children must be accompanied by a guardian. If you do not have a bike, we have a limited number of loaners available!

Please email programs@caswellhill.ca if you wish to borrow a bike, if you want to drop-in for just one of the rides, or with any questions you may have! Cost as a barrier funding is available as well to those who need it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difficulty level of the bike ride?

The majority of the ride will be flat and on a paved path, with some road riding. There will be volunteers at the front and back of the pack to ensure that nobody is left behind, and we will set the pace based on the needs of the group.

What if I dont have a bell on my bike?

There are apps availible for your phone that mimic a bell, or they are quite affordable at Canadian Tire. If you choose to ride without one, just be aware that you risk a bylaw ticket from the city.

Do you have a bike I can borrow?

Maybe! Email programs@caswellhill.ca and we'll see what we can do.

Helmets are not very cool, and they mess up my hair...

That's true! But the insurance company requires them and therefore so do we. If you don't have a helmet but wish to participate, send us an email at programs@caswellhill.ca and we'll see what we can do.
