Candidate Briefing Session - September 2024 Local Government Lithgow City Council Election

This session will assist potential candidates who are considering nominating for the upcoming local government elections.
This briefing provides participants with an understanding of the role of a Councillor and how it fits inwith other roles and levels of government. Participants will discuss the expectations and potential challenges and identify key elements of Council meetings.
Lithgow City Council has engaged Maire Sheehan from LGNSW to facilitate this session. Marie has previously held the roles of Mayor and Councillor for several terms at Sydney metropolitan council and since then has been actively involved in local government in various capacities.
