There is no greater time for us as Māori researchers, practitioners and champions to come together and discuss and plan our futures. We are proud to present this gathering; ‘Te Kura Roa - Creating our future for mātauranga Māori and science’ as an opportunity to regather, weave our experiences, knowledge and innovation accumulated over the past 10 years of the National Science Challenge. While there is much to acknowledge in what we have collectively achieved, in the words of Kīngi Tūheitia “there is more mahi to do”.

This is a call to our Mātauranga Māori leads, practitioners and champions from across the NSC, mātauranga Māori and science landscapes to join us in this important discussion and to create what kind of future we envision for mātauranga Māori and science.

Our key objective is to consolidate ideas and thoughts from the two day gathering into a multi-purpose report to inform the sector and decision makers of our collective intention and direction.
