About this event

Your mind matters, and it matters a lot! A healthy mind is just as important as a healthy body for your overall wellbeing. Engaging with your learning, university experiences and peers will help you to achieve study success.

Youth mental health organisation batyr want to have a fun, positive and safe chat with YOU about how to look after your wellbeing as you transition into life at uni. We know starting uni in a new country can be a time filled with excitement, nerves and uncertainty so we want you to know you're not alone in how you're feeling.

What's in the session?

In the program, you will hear a safe and impactful story from one of our trained lived experience storytellers. They will share their personal mental health journey and their experience as an international student, with a focus on hope, strength and recovery.

We explore some of the cultural, linguistic, geographical and financial barriers that may stop international students reaching out for support, as well as the benefits for and how to access services.

When's it happening?

Tuesday 28 March, 12.30 - 1.30pm, Burwood Corporate Centre (BCC), Level 2 (see reception on arrival), Deakin Burwood campus.
