Founded nearly 30 years ago the founders worked with several organizations in the

area and in 2010 staged performances that kicked this movement into high gear. The

terrific trio of Tena Patterson, Tasha Patterson Shirley, and Tara Patterson, formed

Wings to Fly out of a passion for dance and a desire to create a nurturing environment

for aspiring performers. These founders, both seasoned dancers and educators, still

envision a space where creativity could flourish, and where every dancer, regardless of

skill level or experience, could find their voice.

From its humble beginnings, Wings to Fly has grown into a multi-faceted organization.

Offering a wide range of classes in ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, and more, the

company caters to children, teens, and adults alike. The inclusive philosophy is evident

in their programming, which emphasizes personal growth, teamwork, and artistic

expression. Executing the philosophy has been a challenge however we have just found a

suitable space that needs a total build out. finding a

suitable home for the dance company has been a true challenge and that quest

continues even today.
