Walk The Walk Family Support Service
Walk the Walk Family Support Service (WTWFSS) provides an integrated model of family support work and clinical expertise to families with complex needs based in Hertfordshire. Our core purpose is to prevent family breakdown by delivering practical parenting programmes and therapy to all clients. On average 86% of families who work alongside us stay together.
We offer free therapy to clients through Issie’s Emotional Wellbeing Hub (IEWBH). We have supported over 160 clients who may not have been able to afford or access private therapy, including 40 young people. IEWBH was set up as a legacy to our CEO’s late cousin who died by suicide. In 2024 it became fully funded by The National Lottery who recognised the impact of our work. Our person-centred; responsive; tailored made packages of support means that Clients have unrestricted numbers of sessions, based on their needs, and as an organisation we have a life-time commitment to them.
We also run a National Association of Contact Centre accredited “Bubba’s Supervised Contact Centre” from a community venue in Letchworth. This provides meaningful, family focussed contact for children to spend time with their non-resident parent. All clients of Bubba’s Contact Centre are offered access to our other services, including Therapeutic Counselling for children. We always go the extra mile and also offer home visits, virtual contact and handovers to enable children to spend time with their non-resident parents.
Over 80% of children and young people known to our service have been impacted by domestic abuse and toxic relationships. We have a group of experts by experience who provide valuable input into our organisation and offer peer support to others known to our services.
We also offer Drawing and Talking therapy to children and young people and a dedicated Children’s therapist as part of our programme of support.
