Val M. Tate,CLC /Wii Connect
Val M. Tate is a Community Organizer, Facilitator, Trainer and Coach supporting the growth and development of resident leaders from across the country for over two decades through evidence based resident engagement practices.
Val believes, "There are no communities that cannot be developed, only communities that have not been developed".
Val is the Founder and Executive Director of Wii Connect. Her portfolio of work consists of the Wii Connect Ecosystem Programs. This initiative works to decrease crime and health disparities in Indianapolis Neighborhoods utilizing trauma informed approaches through the following avenues:
- Wii Connect: Strengths, Opportunities and Leaders, SOL- Building trauma informed leaders in neighborhoods to utilized skills, knowledge and behaviors that fully engaged communities that have significant trauma
- Wii Connect: H/ART- Supports conversations with neighbors on violence and health disparities leading to mental wellness through art.
- Wii Connect: Culture - Place based community engagement that supports resident leadership to make change in their own neighborhoods
- Wii Connect People - Supporting Opportunity Youth and young Adults to be self-sufficient and Self-reliant
As a part of this work, Val organized partners to bring "The Trauma Informed Community Building Institute," to the community. We are so happy to be working with our partners:
