Remix Recovery

Remix Recovery is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit offering peer-led support groups for those in mental health and substance use recovery, regardless of diagnosis. Our goal is to fight mental health and addiction stigma by raising awareness, smashing stereotypes, and creating a brave space for people surviving mental illness or addiction.

What is Remix Recovery?

  • Remix Recovery is a process for re-discovering your authentic self, free from stigma, judgment, and the expectations of others.
  • It can serve as a guide to help you build, cultivate, and lead a brave space that will facilitate profound growth and change.
  • It is not a new concept. It is based on well-established, time-tested principles that are so intuitive they will seem practically obvious once you understand them.
  • Remix Recovery is a community of people seeking to heal from their mental health and substance use struggles together

What We Believe

  • “What works for you is right for you!”
  • “New actions tend to produce new feelings”
  • “Low-barrier approach makes Remix Recovery support groups highly inclusive and is consistent with our stigma-fighting origins and goals.”
  • “You do not need a diagnosis to be capable of recovering.”
  • “How others define your problems matters less than what you choose to do about them, and if you’re ready to make some changes, you’ve already taken the first step towards a new life in recovery.”
  • “Be stubborn about your goals, but flexible about your methods”

Are There Requirements?

  • There is no requirement for what Remix Recovery members think, believe, or even desire.
  • There is also no requirement for what members do outside of Remix Recovery support groups.
  • There is no diagnosis requirement or requirement of how you identify.
  • The only requirements are for how members behave while in a Remix Recovery group.
