Northwestern University is home to one of the most respected and widely recognized clinical Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) programs globally. Our two-year Doctorate of Speech-Language Pathology (SLPD) program is uniquely designed for working clinicians, combining world-renowned faculty expertise with a cutting-edge curriculum that extends beyond traditional entry-level SLP education. This advanced SLP degree integrates critical areas such as leadership, policy, organizational behavior, and operations alongside clinical research methods, dissemination and implementation science, and specialized clinical practices.
With a flexible, hybrid format and customizable options, the SLPD program empowers full-time practicing SLPs to immediately apply new lenses and approaches to their work, driving innovation and solving challenges in real time. Beyond individual growth, the program fosters collaborative networks within and across cohorts, connecting SLP peers and faculty experts to address key issues in the field, including service provision, reimbursement, advocacy, policy reform, and advancements in teaching and learning.
