Lindsay Lusignea
Lindsay began yoga as means to enhance her flexibility and focus in athletics, and now continues yoga as a way of living and as a vehicle to empower others. The elation and focus she felt after each class continued to bring Lindsay back to the mat. After several months of a consistent yoga practice several times a week, Lindsay's love for yoga became a passion. It was her strong desire to share this practice with the world that was the driving force behind her choice to begin teaching yoga.
Lindsay is known for an inspirational style of teaching that seemlessly combines an energetic challenge with an easy, humourous and personable delivery. With her motivational way of teaching, you will leave each class feeling invigorated, empowered and free from within. At the same time her effective hands-on assists and alignment techniques bring new education and awareness to your evolving practice. With a vast teaching background, Lindsay is passionate about teaching two different styles of yoga: Power and Restorative. The Power Yoga classes are a dynamic flowing form of yoga linking your breath with movement, a cleansing sweat, and creating transform from within. You will be guided to the edge of your limits, and explore what is past them. The Restorative classes focus on deep stretching, breathing, and focus in order to bring healing through recovery and renewal. In each class she encourages everyone to be curious about their own capacity for optimal health and access their true greatness.
In 2008 Lindsay completed her 500 hour ceritifcation with Sid McNairy and continues studying with a range of teachers including Sid, Baron Baptiste, Seane Corn, Judith Lasater, Bernie Clark, and is currently completing a 100 hour Yoga Anatomy course with Leslie Kaminoff. As an ambassador for Manduka and lululemon athletica, Lindsay thrives in creating community and being part of teams that are focused on conducting positive change in the world. For five years Lindsay co-facilitated 200 hour and 500 hour advanced Teacher Trainings with Sid around the country. You can find her leading and teaching various programs for Assisting and Adjustments of yoga, modern applications of Yoga Philosophies and psychology, Restore & Revive yoga trainings, various workshops on power yoga and restorative teachings, as well as 1:1 mentorship for yoga businesses and 1:1 mentorship for current yoga teachers to powerfully brand, grow, and strengthen their teachings and business.
With her Masters in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, and strong athletic background as a Divsion 1 collegiate lacrosse athlete, Lindsay unifies the wisdom of the body, mind and soul to inspire others to live authentically and free. It's not about the posture and it's not about how you look in the pose. It is about your experience in each posture and in each practice, and how you will grow every day. It's not about getting your foot behind your head, or landing the cover of a yoga magazine. The essence of this practice is in your own mindset, and your determination to achieve the highest level of greatness for yourself and for others. This is a yoga practice, not a yoga perfect. Be open to the process, be willing to fall, then be willing to lift up more.
Now is the time to step into a new possibility.
