Latinas in STEM

The Latinas in STEM Foundation was founded in the summer of 2013 by five Latina MIT alumnae who were interested in formalizing the work they were already doing within their respective communities. The five founders of the organization are all first generation American women who have been the first in their family to attend college. They attribute their success in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) to direct outreach provided to them in college and want to be the same driving force for others. The organization’s mission is to inspire and empower Latinas to pursue and thrive in STEM fields.

Latinas in STEM is a non-profit organization that is fiscally sponsored by Social and Environmental Entreprenuers (SEE), a 501(c)3.
