JLT Web Solutions
I (Jeff Thungc) am a first-generation refugee from the fallout of the US CIA Secret War in Laos. A lady at the church that sponsored my family to help us settle in the US inspired me to get into social services. I worked in this field for ten years, assisting low-income families and at-risk youth (Juvenile Delinquents) to get jobs and advance their careers. As you can imagine the challenge of finding employment for this population. Therefore, my wife and I started food businesses to employ these youth.
In the mid-2000s, technology was booming, and digital marketing was the frontier. I bought a website to promote my food businesses. However, the company sold me the website, had difficulty carrying out my marketing vision. I noticed that other small business owners also needed help with this challenge. I decided to go to school and learn how to do this so that I could help local business owners solve their problems. I worked full-time as a social worker, ran my restaurant, and went to school full-time. After school, I wasn't able to secure contracts because I had the education but lacked the experience. I took a job managing various departments, such as digital media, website and application development, and digital learning, for a local school district. When the pandemic hit, I noticed an increased demand for digital solutions in the small business community. The pandemic created a virtual space where prospects and consumers hang out, and small businesses need a solution to meet their prospective customers online. I saw a niche there and want to provide services to fill this gap. I left the school district to run my business full-time in May 2020. We are very passionate about helping small businesses thrive.
