FERMATA COMPOSERS COLLECTIVE
We started in the 2011-2012 academic year, founded by Ben Kutner, as an ensemble performing concerts in the Underground - a venue on Brown's campus. We merged with the Brown Composers Collective shortly thereafter, and became the Fermata Composers Collective.
Concerts of student music have long been our priority - we give composers a voice to express who they are, without limitation to instrumentation, genre, or anything else! In addition to traditional concerts, our other signature event, 24, is a (you guessed it) 24 hour long composition festival where students compose and perform new music.
Fostering a sense of community for composers and musicians on Brown's campus has long been our priority. We have many more new and exciting events in progress and hope you'll join us!
