Ebony Ice, Inc.

Since our establishment in 1989 as an affiliate of the National Brotherhood of Skiers, Ebony Ice, Inc. has remained steadfast in our dedication to bridging the access gap to winter sports for people of color. Despite the progress we have made over the past 35 years the lack of diversity in snow sports persists, indicating that our work is far from complete.

One of our flagship initiatives, the "Learn 2 Ski and Snowboard" program, has been instrumental in introducing young people of color to the joys of winter sports. This comprehensive 4-week program aims to equip participants with the necessary skills, confidence, and sense of community to embrace the outdoors during the winter in a way like never before. Through this initiative, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of skiing in the lives of our participants, many of whom have become enthusiastic skiers and snowboarders, exploring slopes both locally and globally. However, despite our strong partnerships with local ski facilities, the prohibitive cost remains a significant barrier for many prospective participants.
