Como No
Como No is a producer of live events based in London. Our primary focus is on performers rooted in Latin America but generally we work with artists that we like in any field.
Since we began in 1986 we’ve presented the who’s who of Latin Music from Celia Cruz to Calle 13 and from Mercedes Sosa to Bomba Estereo via every Buena Vista permutation from Compay Segundo to Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club taking in hundreds of shows from the likes of Carlos Vives, Juan Luis Guerra, Ruben Blades and Willie Colon. We regularly present shows from small bars to the largest concert halls and also present many world class musicians from other genres.
Como No founded La Linea – The London Latin Music Festival – in 2001 and has presented this annual event in venues across central London each April since then. The Festival aims to present the best of what is new and current in music of Latin origin and has given UK debuts to many artists such as Seu Jorge, Pink Martini, Gotan Project and Kinky.
This century Como No developed an interest in presenting dance from Latin America and worked on projects with Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, Ballet Folklorico Nacional de Amelia Hernandez from Mexico and the Ballet Nacional de Cuba. We produced Carlos Acosta’s Tocororo in Havana in 2003 and subsequently produced all of his shows from 2003 until 2015.
We commissioned and founded Mexrrissey in 2015 and continue to co-manage it. The project reinvents the music of Morrissey and The Smiths through a Mexican musical filter.
