Community Health Promotion Unit, SMC Health System

Who should attend? Our target audience includes: prevention professionals, coaliton members, faith-leaders, parents, school staff, law enforcement, non-profit and county agency staff, policy makers and others. 

What will attendees learn?

Core learning objectives include:

  1. Understand the health impacts of substance use
  2. Learn how to conduct environmental strategies to prevent substance use in San Mateo County
  3. Build knowledge and skills  to practice substance use primary prevention locally 

Registration and other details:

Register for each individual training. Upon registration, you will recieve confirmation with more information. Space is limited, depending on location. 

Trainings begin July 11th and will be rolled out on a quarterly basis. Stay tuned for additional training sessions through the fiscal year. 

Training courses do not require prequisites.

Selected topics include Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana, Prevention Strategies, Health Policies, Planning, Evaluation, Coalition Buidling , Community Organizing, Ethics in Prevention, Environmental Strategies, Youth Development and More!
