The mission of the District of Columbia Board of Board of Architecture, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture is to regulate the design industry and protect consumers:

The board licenses and certifies architects, interior designers, and landscape architects, by regulating their practices. They also approve continuing education courses.

The board enforces the District of Columbia's real estate license law, and disciplines licensees who violate it.
