From art-house classics to documentary films, and innovative and experimental visions to next-level Bollywood: 3rd i Films is committed to promoting diverse images of South Asians through independent film. 

Celebrate with 3rd i for its 20th Annual SF International South Asian Film Festival – Bollywood and Beyond! This year’s festival showcases edgy narratives, fun Indie films, and unique music documentaries from South Asia and its Diaspora, including stories from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, France, UK, Canada and the USA. We peer back in time at the interwoven black and brown histories in America, we visit the 90s legendary South Asian British music scene, and we take a spectacular gaze at classic Bollywood. We look to the future, giving ear to young voices confronting the realities of our global environmental crisis and finding hope. Familial roots are examined in post colonial India and contemporary Queer communities. And lightness abounds with comedic relief in 3rd i’s signature Shorts and the quirky escapades of a heist movie, while women filmmakers shine bright!
