Mar Decena

Mar Decena is a professional dance artist and choreographer based in Northern Ireland, specialising in Bellydance and Arabic dance traditions. She is one of the main promoters of Arabic dances in Northern Ireland, working to increase their visibility and cultural recognition. Originally from Mexico, Mar bridges Middle Eastern dance and contemporary practice through socially engaged work. She is an artist-in-residence at The MAC, Belfast, where she leads Bridges Through Dance, creating inclusive choreographic and participatory experiences across communities.
