Nightrize began as an idea during our senior year of high school in Burlington, Ontario. A group of us set out to organize a hip-hop show and party on campus—something that had never been done before in Halton. With support from school staff, we spent six months planning the event, building the lineup, and promoting it across the community. However, just four days before the show, it was shut down due to growing interest from students at other schools and fans of the artists, raising concerns beyond the school's capacity. While it was a major setback, it also sparked a new direction. Instead of letting the idea go, we took it to Toronto—and that’s how Nightrize was born.
