Unlike more active yoga styles, Yin yoga involves holding seated or lying down poses for extended periods, often ranging from 3 to 5 minutes or even longer. These extended holds target the body's connective tissues, like ligaments and fascia, promoting flexibility and joint mobility.

Yin yoga also encourages mindfulness and a meditative mindset as practitioners surrender to the sensations in each pose. It's an excellent choice for those seeking deep relaxation, stress relief, and a chance to release tension stored in the body. Yin yoga is suitable for all levels and complements more dynamic yoga practices and active lifestyles. I recommend having props such us blocks or books as replacements, blankets, bolster or cushions.
