Welcome to the Year of the Line Manager Conference!
Building a dedicated community of managers
As part of our continuing strategic action to invest in a dedicated community of people leaders, we're excited to announce the very first Met Office line manager conference taking place during July this year. The conference will be a great opportunity to come together as a community, making new connections across the organisation, as well as learning some new skills and sharing experiences.
As line managers we all play a key role in providing purpose, direction and motivation for our staff, ultimately helping the organisation to succeed in delivering our purpose, our strategy and our KPIs. We are keen to invest in ensuring this community is well supported with engaged and committed members.
What can I expect on the day?
The day will consist of a variety of exciting activities aimed at helping us develop as a community. Through the sessions you can expect to:
- Hear directly from our Chief Executive, Penny Endersby, who will give a state of the nation talk and then take questions from the audience
- Learn about other people's management and leadership career journeys and share our own experiences with one another in a safe space
- Understand how to develop change management skills and build personal resilience as a manager
- Get an update on the activities planned under the Excellent People and Culture anchor of our strategy
- Understand the future role of the manager, what's expected of you and what continual professional development opportunities exist to support you
