Wolterton Workshops - Gardening for Beginners

Join us to learn the basics of growing your own veg and flowers and take inspiration from the produce and gardening methods used in the Wolterton Walled garden.

This hugely informative half-day course is led by Wolterton Park's Kat Lanham. She will guide you through a combination of theory and practical demonstrations including a tour of our stunning 4 acre walled kitchen garden.

From planning and tools, to considering what to grow and where, to seed sowing, pruning, pests and disease, this is the perfect introductory day for both the curious and committed. Set in the glorious grounds of Wolterton Hall which is not generally open to the public - this will be an experience to remember.

The workshop runs rom 10am to 1pm and will be held in the Hall's gardens. You will receive tea, coffee and refreshments on arrival and then be shown around the famous Walled Garden (the largest in East Anglia) where preparations are starting for a major rennovation. You will get to take home your work plus a gift from Wolterton. If there is time we will also include a tour of the Hall's State Rooms.
