Who is Claude Cahun? Participatory Theatre Workshop

Come join us at the Sue Townsend Theatre for an exciting and interactive workshop exploring the life and work of the queer, trans, artist Claude Cahun (nee Lucy Schwob). Led by an experienced (and queer) Workshop Leader and two professional AFAB actors, the team will share key scenes from the new play, "Who is Claude Cahun?" which runs for 4 weeks at Southwark Playhouse in London in June/July, prior to a national tour.

Participants will have an opportunity to see scenes from the play, hot seat the characters, comment on the play and script, and take part in participatory theatre exercises. We will delve into the world of this courageous artist who with their life long partner, Marcel Moore (nee Suzanne Malherbe) used guerrilla art to bravely defy the Nazis in occupied Jersey during World War 2.

Don't miss this opportunity to engage with the amazing story of Claude Cahun in a creative and dynamic setting. The workshop will be tailored to your needs as a group - open to all ages from 16 to 90. No previous experience of drama/theatre needed. All welcome. The workshop is FREE thanks to Lottery funding and public support through Arts Council England

See you there!
