With just one year remaining until the completion of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Action Plan on the public health response to dementia 2017-2025, Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) is launching From Plan to Impact VII as a side event to the WHO’s 77th World Health Assembly, seeking to establish just how far Member States have advanced towards achieving the targets of the Global Action Plan.

This launch provides a critical moment to convene and assess progress, address challenges and strategise towards improving the lives of those living with dementia and carers.

With 55 million people currently living with dementia, the event will also delve into ADI’s call for an extension to the Global Action Plan on dementia and will bring together key stakeholders who have the power to achieve this.

During the hour-long event, Alzheimer's Disease International's CEO Paola Barbarino will lead a panel discussion featuring global experts and Health Ministers. They will explore how countries that have made significant progress can serve as models for others, facilitating mutual learning and encouraging governments to accelerate their national plans.

We will be hosting the event as an online Zoom session.

Alternative ways to join. If you are planning to be in Geneva for the World Health Assembly, we would be delighted to welcome you in-person to this event at the Beau-Rivage Hotel, Geneva. Arrival drinks and canapés from 17:30 CEST, followed by the report launch and panel discussion at 18:00-19:00 CEST. You can register here.
