About this event
The idea: A n online space to connect with other sewists for those who may struggle to connect with other sewists locally in person. Whilst a sewist may refer to someone who sews, and is aimed at those dressmaking, you can work on any craft project - we are craft inclusive! This event is open to anyone doing a textile craft that brings you joy. The core of this is to connect people who sew, but you may have some knitting, drawing or quilting on hand to enjoy instead.
The session: A 2 hour session to connect with others. Bring your own project and snacks.
A Zoom email link will be sent one hour before the start of the session.
The aim is for an inclusive space: if you aren't comfortable joining in, and just want to listen, that is okay! There is a chat function if you would rather communicate using that.
If you are running late or need to leave early - that is okay too.
Camera and microphone are not required, but feeling socially connected is the aim for all participants .
What it is not:
This is not a teaching or a workshop style session. Imagine it like an in-person open sewing studio or like open door Knit'n'B!tch style session. Previous sessions have included sharing some hints and tips from other participants and is always encouraged.
Dates:
For 2024, each month has at least THREE opportunities to socialise with others. These dates are on different days of the week, with some months having weekend sessions available.
Most weekdays are 7 pm - 9pm (London BST/GMT) unless otherwise stated. Weekend times may vary.
More events may be scheduled and added at a later event. Please 'Follow' to be kept up to date with additional events.
