In this 4 hour workshop we will cover:
- An introduction to the biopsychosocial model of mental health difficulties.
- Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and how these can contribute to later difficulties with both mental health and substance use.
- Basic neurobiology of substance use.
- Introduction to psychosis, emotionally unstable personality disorder, PTSD, depression and anxiety – how these can interact with substance use, with a focus on how they can maintain each other.
- Time to explore your role in relation to these difficulties.
Please only book a place if you are certain you can attend. Places are limited and absences impact on others that could benefit from this training.

It is essential that they are aware of the course content beforehand, to be emotionally prepared for the day. Please ensure that all delegates read this course outline ahead of the training. They will be able to step out during the session if needed. There is no requirement for delegates to share personal experiences on this course.
