About this event
Trauma-Informed Parenting & Teaching Workshop
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July 2025 | 10:00–11:30am
The Chapel, Lift
This 90-minute, trauma-informed workshop is designed to give parents and professionals the tools to enhance children’s mental wellbeing and resilience.
Why This Matters - Now More Than Ever
Since 2020, there has been a 25% increase in anxiety and depression globally, affecting nearly one billion people. In my 25 years in education - and after recently revisiting your school - I can say with full conviction that this work is not just helpful, it's essential.
You’re already carrying so much - whether that’s at home or in the classroom. This isn’t “another thing to do.” In fact, once this knowledge becomes part of how you see and respond to the children in your care, it can actually make things feel more manageable. It reduces stress, deepens connection, and creates calmer, more resilient environments - at home, at school, and everywhere in between. This is about making life easier, not harder.
For Teachers, Staff & Parents Alike
As a mum, teacher, and trauma-informed coach, I know how high the stakes feel - emotionally and physically. Whether you're supporting a child with a visible difference or managing a classroom of 30, this work is about understanding what’s really going on in ourselves and our children - and how to respond in ways that foster calm, safety, and connection.
This workshop will help you:
- Recognise and respond to different types of trauma in children
- Strengthen relationships through better communication
- Support emotional regulation at home and in the classroom
- Advocate for children’s needs in educational and healthcare settings
- Build confidence, compassion, and consistency—especially when things are hard
An Invitation
I believe we can create communities where children and adults alike feel safe, understood, and empowered. Imagine schools and homes filled with people who understand themselves, their nervous systems, and each other — that’s where real change begins.
This workshop is designed for all parents and caregivers who want to better support the children in their lives, no matter their background or experiences. You’ll leave with practical, powerful tools to help you navigate emotional regulation, communication, and connection.
If you have thoughts or ideas about how this could support your school, family, or community - I’d love to hear them. This is about working together, with compassion and purpose.
