Time to network sessions foster collaboration in sport and physical activity by bringing the professional workforce together to discuss topics, share best practices, and problem-solve in a supportive, facilitated environment, promoting collective learning.

Who can attend? (Requirements)

People that attend this course should:

· Be a professional member of staff that works in sport and physical activity. For example, working for a National Governing Body or a charity (list not exhaustive)

· be at least 16 years of age.

· be able to communicate effectively in English.


Course description

Time to network – Developing and coaching others (22 May 2024, 10-11am / 10 July 2024, 10-11am)

Explore how to develop and coach the people around you. Delegates will share experiences, dissect best practices, and develop strategies for coaching and developing people in the sports and physical activity community.

What will you achieve?

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

· Develop and implement strategies to develop and coach others to take away to use in your setting.

· Explore best practice in developing and coaching others

Time to network – Tackling inequalities (12 June 2024, 10-11am)

Identify how to create meaningful change in tackling inequalities within sports and physical. Engage in discussions on prioritising organisations and share insights into effective practices, fostering a commitment to an equitable and inclusive sports and physical activity environment.

What will you achieve?

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

· Understand how to prioritise your club / community organisation in tackling inequalities.

· Understand the tools that can support you to tackle inequalities in your role.

· Collaborate and share best practice examples.

· You want to understand what others are doing regarding tackling inequalities and want to share best practice.

Time to network - Including everyone (Date: TBC)

Investigate the necessity of inclusivity within clubs and community organisations. Exchange ideas on crafting policies that promote inclusivity, sharing approaches that resonate with diverse communities. Discuss both successes and challenges in creating an environment where everyone feels valued and included.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

· Discuss what inclusive practice look like for your organisation

· Discuss both successes and challenges when having inclusive conversations.

Time to network - Engaging Community Organisations (17 July 2024, 10-11am)

Discuss the process of forming partnerships beyond traditional sports sectors. Participants will share experiences in connecting with other sectors, exploring successful relationship-building tactics, and addressing challenges. Discuss strategies for how engage community organisation and sectors for mutual benefit and growth.

What will you achieve?

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

· Develop and implement ways of developing partnerships with community organisations.

· Explore successful relationship building techniques.

· Collaborate and share best practice examples.

· You work in a professional setting and want to improve your relationship building outside of traditional clubs.

· You want to understand what others are doing regarding relationship building and share best practice.

Explore the core principles of effective leadership within the sports and physical activity sector. This session offers a platform for sharing experiences, exploring leadership strategies, and honing your skills to inspire and empower others in your organisation and the challenges you face.

What will you achieve?

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

· Identify key leadership qualities and apply them to your role and organisation.

· Look at what great leadership looks like for you in your organisation.

· Develop strategies to motivate and guide you to become the best leader you can be.

· Explore best practices in leadership within the sports and physical activity community.

Time to network - Volunteers (30 April 2024, 10-11am)

Share best practice on the vital role volunteers play in driving positive change and growth within sports and physical activity organizations. This session provides a platform for discussing volunteer management strategies, recognising and rewarding contributions, having conversation with clubs and other organisation regarding volunteering.


What will you achieve?

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

· Develop effective communication strategies to discuss with partners, clubs and organisations how to for recruit, retain, and manage volunteers.

· Recognise the support needed to support volunteering and how to support clubs to think deeper about their volunteering experience.

· Share best practices and insights into volunteer engagement.

· Share and Identify barriers to participation related to the cost-of-living based on your insight.

· Explore with others, innovative approaches to make sports and physical activities more financially accessible, based on your organisations experiences.

· Collaborate on developing solutions to address the affordability issue in your community or organisation.

· You are interested in understanding and mitigating the financial barriers to sports and physical activity participation.

· You aim to develop inclusive strategies to ensure everyone can access sports and physical activities regardless of their financial situation.
