UCL MA in Audio Storytelling for Radio & Podcasting presents:

The Hustle: Finding and Seizing Opportunities in Audio

Working independently offers freelancer freedom – but turning your idea into something creatively, let alone financially, sustainable takes more than just a good mic and a great story. In this Lunch & Learn, we’ll explore how audio makers are making it work in the real world.

We'll hear from producers and creators who are:
Being entrepreneurial, building communities and platforms around their audio
Tapping into funding opportunities beyond traditional media models
Creating their own independent podcasts exploring alternative ways to reach and engage audiences.

This session is for anyone curious about what it takes to carve out a sustainable path in independent audio – and how others are doing it on their own terms.

We’ll be joined by an outstanding panel of guests: from independent producers, successful podcasters, and creative entrepreneurs. They’ll share how they’ve made it work, what’s helped them stand out, and how they’ve built models that get their work heard.

Panellists include: -

Jennie BeckerSliding Doors Podcast
Lucia Scazzocchio –Award-winning producer and founder of Social Broadcasts and
XMTR - the curated platform for independent audio
Taqwa SadiqAward-winning Audio Producer
Jack Suddaby –Founder of production company Beautiful Strangers / The Podcast House
