Tenderly Creative Writing Workshops: Season 1

Welcome to Tenderly : Season 1

Join me, Roshni Goyate, for Season 1 of creative writing workshops by Tenderly.

Six one-off sessions to kick-start your creativity in a kind, generous and generative online environment.

In our 2.5 hours together, we'll write, share, discuss and vibe on all things creative writing. This is not about leaving with a perfect, polished piece. It's not even really about craft. It's definitely not about technical aspects of writing.

It's about starting simple, starting somewhere; just starting.

These sessions are structured and I'll guide you throughout. All you need to bring is your favourite notepad, something to write with and a decent internet connection. And if you can help it, no interruptions.

You'll come away having written something you can either build on in your own time in the future or just leave it as it is, and be happy in the knowledge that you've flexed your creative writing muscles for 2 hours, and maybe connected with others through your writing.

About Roshni, the founder of Tenderly

I'm a poet, a mother, a once-founder of a 7-figure company and a Londoner living in Muscat (Oman).

I started Tenderly because I found myself creatively blocked, and wanted a no-pressure way to come back to my creative self in a gentle and nurturing environment. And I had a feeling I wasn't alone in that need. So I created Tenderly.

A bit about me: I'm part of the 4 BROWN GIRLS WHO WRITE poetry collective, and have been published in a pamphlet collection, 4 BROWN GIRLS WHO WRITE (Rough Trade Books 2020) and a poetry collection of the same name (FEM Press 2018).

My work has also been included in anthologies such as:

• Poetry Unbound: 50 Poems to Open Your World, edited by Padraig O’Tuama (which came from the podcast with the same name, where you can listen to my poem Coconut Oil)
• SLAM! You’re Gonna Wanna Hear This, chosen by Nikita Gill
• Night Feeds and Morning Songs: Honest, Fierce and Beautiful Poems About Motherhood, curated by Ana Sampson.
