About this event

The old tale that said that to advance in your career you just need to let your work speak for itself is just that, old. Your success is a direct result of how well you manage to tell your story to create authentic relationships.

During this session you will learn:

  1. How to write your story, strengths and abilities so that you can increase your level of confidence and understanding of you value;
  2. How to (re)write your story pitch so that you can use it to introduce yourself during networking events as well as on LinkedIn;
  3. Tips on how to interact as introverts and extroverts during networking events;
  4. Ten tools to use before, during and after a networking event so that you can connect to people at different levels and leverage your new network to advance in your career;
  5. Five tips to kickstart a conversation during a networking event.

Whether you are a woman, a person from the LGBTQIA+ community, a person with a disability, or a leader from a so-called "ethnic minority", this session is for you. Maybe you currently represent an employee resource group or you are part of the internal comms team or even your work falls in the DEI initiatives, through this session you will learn how to use storytelling in a strategic, authentic way. No fluff, no academic lecture but lots of practice and real-life experience.

The session is divided into four parts as follows:

Part 1: Storytelling training.

Part 2: Suggestions and tips.

Part 3: Practice.

Part 4: Q&A

Please note that. ...

  • Throughout the session, you will be required to write and take notes so that you can put in practice what you are taught.
  • You will be trained in a safe space as created in the past when training thousands of people in storytelling, leadership, and coaching so that you are comfortable feeling vulnerable.
  • By taking part in this session you will receive a private reading from the first chapter of my upcoming book on leadership and storytelling.

Leaders who have worked with me, had this to share:

“It was a sight to behold. Throughout, she held our hands, firmly, kindly, calmly, and with humour. She was and is a genius at this.”

“I had forgotten I AM MY OWN story, and that being Human is what we should start being first before taking any position we wish to be seen into.”

"I was able to dig deep and tap into a story I'd been wanting to share for a while but hadn't quite known how. It was a pivotal moment in my blogging career, promoting greater authenticity in the way I communicate and an enhanced relationship with my audience"

“Before this, I was unsure about storytelling as a tool, now I can see some real value in being more deliberate with its use”

"Beatrice walked us through her own story, gave us steps to take to get clarity and introduced us to her methodology for storytelling. The steps and methodology are really useful for those of us that are still ‘finding our voice’"
