About this event

  • 2 hours

Start-up Stars is a series of quarterly events where scale-up graduates from the Get Ready for Business Growth programme and our previous scale-up programme share their expertise with aspiring entrepreneurs in the cultural and creative sector.

From collaborating with family members to start your business, to collaborating with big name brands, or even your own customers – creatives can do more together than they can separately. Join us to hear how four creative businesses have approached collaboration from different angles and how they went about it – with plenty of breakout rooms for networking with other attendees you may come away from the night with some collaborative opportunities of your own!

This event will be moderated by Rasheed Ogunlaru, coach, speaker and author. He will be talking collab with:

Chloe Baldwin | Buttercrumble

Twin sisters, Abigail and Chloe Baldwin, are creative advocates, educators, and co-founders of the design agency Buttercrumble.r

Buttercrumble is a creative design studio based in Leeds and London, established in 2017 by twin sisters Abigail and Chloe Baldwin. With a focus on delivering inclusive branding, graphics and illustration that educate and connect the young and the young-at-heart, they have collaborated with high-profile brands including Mamas and Papas and Santander, and are published authors of “The Brand Power Manifesto”.

Chloe Baldwin – Bio

Chloe Baldwin has an unwavering dedication to her craft as director and creativity conductor at Buttercrumble. This is evident from the depth of experience she’s squeezed into her 20s, from supporting John Lewis with their iconic Christmas campaigns and being named a “Female Entrepreneur to Watch” by The Telegraph and Natwest to becoming a published author. Before launching her creative studio – alongside her twin sister – Chloe was an enterprise scholar at the University of Leeds. Thus, she’s passionate about supporting young talent and does so with the support of organisations like the British Library, IPSE, and the National Saturday Club. She is also a member of the University of Leeds’ Industry Advisory Board (School of Design).

Rose Hill | Co-Creative Connection

Rose is a multi-award-winning graphic artist, muralist, and educator.

After collaborating with many high-profile brands such as Harrods, ZSL London Zoo, and the British Museum with her company Rose Hill Designs, Rose started to design and paint large-scale murals, and fell in love with bringing people together to create art.

She then founded Co-Creative Connection, creating joyful spaces through running community-focused workshops and producing murals for both the private and public sectors. Co-Creative Connection believes that creativity is for everyone and should be accessible to all.

Ann Witheridge | London Fine Art Studios

Ann Witheridge has been teaching painting for over 25 years.

She read History of Art at Christ’s College Cambridge before moving to Italy to study art full time. She returned to London in 2004 and founded her own art school London Fine Art Studios. She has written articles for many art periodicals and given painting demonstrations and workshops in museums across London including the National Portrait Gallery, Dulwich Picture Gallery and Leighton House Museum.

She has also been invited abroad to give workshops in Paris, Addis Ababa and Charleston, South Carolina. She loves teaching and painting in equal measure.

The event will take place on Zoom and you will be sent the access link 24 hours before the start of the event.

The panel will also be on hand to answer any questions you have. If you would like to submit a question, please email it ahead of time to start-ups@bl.uk.
