Do you love to sing harmony? Are you up for having a go and trying new things? Would you like to learn a wide variety of songs from around the world? Do you love to perform? Would you like to experience singing with other women in a small group?
I am looking for women with some previous singing experience to join a new women’s harmony singing group meeting at the Watch House in Cullercoats on Monday evenings. Songs will be taught mostly by ear (supported by some notation while learning), and singers will be invited to explore and develop harmony singing skills. We will learn songs from the harmony singing traditions of the world. Songs of earth, sea and sky, with women at their heart. The idea is to create a small group to perform at Cullercoats Festival on Saturday 15th of June.
There will be an open workshop on Monday 4th March, followed by 10 rehearsals and a performance at Cullercoats Festival on Saturday 15th June.
The ‘taster’ session on Monday 4th of March 7-9pm, is for anyone who is interested to come along and learn more about the project, and to experience singing together in a friendly, supportive ,environment. There will then be an opportunity for those who are interested to sign up for the full project.
