Frequently asked questions

A disco in a church? Really?

Yes really! Churches have been used as community spaces for hundreds of years. So why not have a boogie in one?

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel comfortable in. Just make sure you can dance in it.

What are you raising money for?

The money will help raise funds for both St. Thomas Church and Heptonstall Festival. Heptonstall Festival is a free event each year and it is free every year because of fundraising events like this.

How do I get there? Is there parking nearby?

There isn't parking near the church though there are parking spaces in Heptonstall at the bowling club and in the free car park on Towngate in Heptonstall. There is public transport into Heptonstall too. The 596 bus run every half an hour from Hebden Bridge to Heptonstall.

Will there be food and drink?

We are planning on having a tuck shop and a bar on with a mixture of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Water will always be available too.

I have difficulties with mobility can I get into the building?

The church is wheelchair accessible from the north entrance, everything is on one level once you enter the building. There are however cobbles in the graveyard and in various places in Heptonstall so it will be a bumpy ride to get into church.

Are you LGBTQIA+ inclusive?

Yes we are! St. Thomas Church is part of the inclusive church network and everyone is welcome to come to this event and to any event we do at church.
